 21st - 24th June 2007   Asia Pacific Veterans Cup 2007
Dear Football Friends,
Greetings from SOS International.
We have just completed our Asia Pacific Veterans Cup 2007 in Brisbane - Australia. The Tournament was a great success and everybody had a good time. The conditions were perfect for Footy and there was some very good Football on display. Some of the Goal keeping was of the highest standard, something we haven't seen very often, well done boys. We should have some more info and pictures on our website shortly, but here are the essentials.
Third Place went to Mal Crossley and his Highgate Hobbits from New Zealand, they played really well and were unlucky to miss out on the final.
The final was a classic between two strong teams, on the one side was Colin Lynskey and his Queensland Lions from Australia and on the other Sergey Guskov and his SPK squad from Moscow - Russia. The game was fair, but hard and fast with no quarter given by either side. In the end the superior skill from the Russians proofed too much for the gallant Lions and they went down 3:0. A well deserved 2nd Place for the Queensland Lions, well done lads. The newly crowned Asia Pacific Veterans Cup Champions for 2007 are SPK - Moscow. Congratulations to Sergey and his Team who put on quite a show throughout the Tournament.
Well done to all participants and thank you again for your Sportsmanship in making this a great weekend.
